Northern Beaches RG recognises that competitions aren't for every child. We strive to create an environment for each and every gymnast feels welcome, comfortable and catered for!
Rhythmic Gymnastics develops body alignment, posture, grace, musicality, rhythm, expression and dance. Gymnasts will learn a variety of balances, rotations and leaps as well as learn how to combine these body movements with their apparatus movements building their coordination and confidence.
The Recreational Program focuses on fundamentals, skill development and helping Gymnasts to reach their goals in ways other than participating in competitions such as skill tracking, personal goal setting and/or internal 'mini'-competitions/showcases.
Another option for Recreational Gymnasts may be to participate in the Multiples Division where the Gymnast has the option to participate in competitions but rather than taking the competition floor alone the Gymnast gets to compete alongside her best friends. The Gymnasts work together to compete in pairs (2), trios (3), groups (4) or freehand groups (6-8). It is a gentle introduction into the world of competitive gymnastics.
There is no commitment to remain in the Recreational Program should the Gymnast change her mind and wish to participate in competitions.
