Rhythmic Gymnastics is a dynamic and expressive sport where Gymnasts perform routines either freehand (no apparatus) or with the accompaniment of a rope, hoop, ball, clubs or ribbon. Rhythmic Gymnastics combines elements of balances, turns, leaps/jumps and dance with movements of the apparatus to a piece of music. Gymnasts develop body alignment, posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, rhythm, coordination and confidence.
Gymnasts can participate recreationally or competitively.
Competition options include the Individual Category (one gymnast performing independently) or the Multiples Category (3-5 Gymnasts performing as a group simultaneously).
Rhythmic Gymnastics in Australia is undertaken following the FIG Code of Points (Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique) and the Australian Levels Program (ALP). These rules classify each levels requirements for the competition cycle and is what NBRG follows to create its training programs.
Gymnastics Australia is the governing body for the sport of gymnastics within Australia. Overseeing the development of the sport nationally, Gymnastics Australia also provides members with access to a wide range of events, services, and products. NBRG is affiliated with Gymnastics Australia & Gymnastics NSW which provides competition opportunities, athlete and staff protection, and staff education and training.
Miss Madeleine Cvetanovski is the Head Coach & Club Owner of Northern Beaches Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Maddie was a Gymnast herself from 4 - 18 and immediately jumped into coaching/judging afterwards, where she has been since!
Maddie has coordinated a program at a nearby location and coached Gymnasts in Levels 1-8 and Multiples for the past 6 years. In this time she has earned an Advanced Coaching Accreditation and Intermediate Judging Accreditation which she plans to continue upgrading.
Recently, Maddie was voted onto the Gymnastics NSW RG Gymsport Comittee. The RG Gymsport Committee exists to develop and implement projects to support and encourage the growth of RG and promote the technical development of RG in NSW.
In total, Maddie has been involved in Rhythmic Gymnastics for 15 Years and each year coaching, judging and staying involved in this sport brings her immense joy. Her passion is rooted in helping girls develop confidence, reach their goals and full potential and teaching expression through dance and movement in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Maddie has the joy of working with her assistant coaches to provide classes at NBRG where we all have shared vision of supporting and inspiring all Gymnasts.
NBRG is located in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Classes are held at Beacon Hill Public School hall with 3 days per week on offer.
Whilst NBRG is a relatively new Gymnastics Club, Maddie (Club Owner & Head Coach) has been coordinating a program through a local school for over 5 Years. During that time she has learned a wealth of information and is excited to grow and expand through opening her own Club.
NBRG provides a nurturing and encouraging environment for all its Gymnasts. All abilities, ages and levels have personalised programs to cater to the individual needs of each and every athlete - All are welcome!
As, NBRG, is affiliated with GymNSW & GymAUS all of our Coaches & Judges are registered Technical Members. Technical Members renew their GymAUS/GymNSW membership yearly and must prove they are involved in the sport, have a valid Working With Children Check and undertake Child Protection training.
Gymnasts training at NBRG are required to pay an annual Registration Fee. This Fee is paid directly to Gymnastics NSW to provide Athlete Registration. Athlete Registration provides protection & insurance, competition opportunities and a range of other member benefits.
